LA Activities to Enjoy after LASIK

LASIKFor many patients, LASIK is a life-changing experience. It is tremendously rewarding to be able to see the world in high definition and clear detail. Dr. Linda Vu of Linda Vision encourages her Los Angeles LASIK patients to take advantage of their newly improved vision and seek out new activities and attractions. Here, she has compiled a list of the best activities to enjoy in LA after LASIK surgery.

The Getty Center

The Getty Center is consistently named an LA must-see, especially amongst art enthusiasts. With high-definition vision, you can spend hours admiring every detail of artwork from your favorite artists. After you’re finished with the Monets, Renoirs and Van Goghs, head over to the photography and sculpture exhibits.

Griffith Observatory

The stars look even brighter with post-LASIK vision. Spend an evening marveling at the sky from the Griffith Observatory. Follow the crowds through the Hall of the Sky and the Hall of the Eye; then, take a look in the observatory’s telescope and finish off the evening admiring the city views from Griffith Park.

Runyon Canyon

See and be seen at Runyon Canyon, a celebrity favorite. Hikers call this an easy to moderate trail, with stunning views at the top. Take a paved road or go off the beaten path. Don’t hesitate to bring Rover — dogs love this hike, too.

Disneyland

If your visual improvement has you feeling like a kid again, take a day trip down to Anaheim to visit Mickey and Minnie Mouse at Disneyland. Stroll down Main Street for a dose of nostalgia, wander through New Orleans square sampling Southern treats and get your heart pumping with a roller coaster ride.

Dodger Stadium

Attending a game at Dodger Stadium is a bucket-list item for any Angeleno. Hit a day game or a night game and watch as some of the country’s best baseball players swing for the fences. Don’t forget to grab a hot dog and a cold beer to complete the experience.

La Brea Tar Pits

This collection of tar pits is set in urban Los Angeles around the Hancock Park area. Locals and tourists alike enjoy exploring the small ponds of tar and asphalt and admiring fossils of animals that got caught in the muck.

Retail Therapy

Full of boutiques and shops, LA is a playground for fashionistas. If you’re into luxury items, take a stroll down Rodeo Drive and pop into shops like Prada, Bulgari and Louis Vuitton. Is your style more cutting edge? Visit Melrose Avenue shopping district for Wasteland, Paul Smith and Fred Segal. Or, walk around Robertson Boulevard and stop into Madison (keep your eye out for celebrities!).
